| Review of Chica Boom:
Chica Boom! Today we are going to be talking about not a sound, like boom chica boom! That is a very common Boy Scout tune, actually. "I said boom! I said boom chicka-boom!
I said booma-chicka-rocka-chicka-rocka-chicka-boom! Uh huh! Oh yeah! One more time..." Sounds pretty catchy type of song thing. And we are not going to be talking about that today. Although if you check out the site, you might be hearing things like "Uh huh! Oh Yeah! One more time!" here as well!
Chica Boom is a straightforward site with a focus on women of different areas. The name makes you think primarily hispanic, which is true. But throughout the site, the girls come from all different areas of Latin America, giving you a pretty diverse grouping of women while still falling under the latina banner. Now I said straightforward site. This is not a video site and its not a reality site, it's like a mixing of both elements. It has the theme and the execution of a reality site, but the videos play more like they are from a video site. It's a weird hybrid but the combination of the two styles is good, and throw in the ocassional picture and you are really good to go here.
The website design approach here is very no-nonsense. Once you sign into the site, you have a ton of content right there on the front page. For each set, you get a thumbnail, the girls name, date added, video or picture links, and then a link for "details." If you check out the details link, you are given a more traditional setup with more thumbnails and a description, the thumbnails being bigger as well. I liked this idea of setup. I could easily download and view everything from the front page if I wanted, or I could check out the details if I wanted to as well. This way it suits people who prefer either way. I prefer the collapsed, easy to download look of the front page. I can just jet through the videos and sort out what I like better later. But I also know people like checking out extended thumbnails and previews as well. This way it works out for both schools of thought! There isn't much more to the site really. You can sort the girls by picture sets, video sets, and by the girl. Otherwise, theres not much else to do here. You get a decent design here, different enough to be cool, easy to use, it might not be the prettiest site to look at but it functions really well!
The videos on Chica Boom were the bigger focus. The videos are primarily done in the WMV format. The two latest videos are done in Quicktime, I'm not sure what the deal is with that. The videos are not segmented at all, you either download the full thing or you download nothing at all. Don't worry, dialup users. You can download a short preview to see if you like the videos in action. I like this setup. The videos are pretty big file wise though, so it is dialup unfriendly. But in this day in age, I think its better to be unfriendly to the dialup people over the broadband people! It's just where technology is going. At the same time, I think that a really good site would have something that could please both parties. I'm blabbing here, but you get my point. I think full movies rule, and I love a site that has full movies. So much easier to download, burn, and watch! The one thumbnail on the main page won't get you far, so you can either download the video rather blindly or move onto the details page. I did most of these blindly, just because I don't like spending major amounts of time on porn sites!
The quality here was quite good. The videos are done in 874k, which is a good high level quality for videos. At the small screen, the vids looked almost perfect. When you bring them to full screen, they still look quite good. There was a little pixelation, but this quality is better than the majorityof what is out on the net now. Which was just quite surprising. They were surprisingly small in size, considering. They were no more than 100mb in most cases. That means shorter, more focused videos, much like the rest of the site. Overall, the video experience here is quite good. The only real problem I'd say is that the overall camerawork looks to be a little "off", not terrible or anything but it just didn't give me that ooomph that some sites do. Overall though, a very strong video section which was really really cool.
The pictures on Chica Boom were also done very well. They are in the slideshow format, which was very weird to navigate. This was weird because the thumbnails weren't very traditional, you either had to move from big picture to big picture or use the details page which had a mixture of thumbs in the different sections of the slideshow. If this is all too confusing, you can just download a zip file of high resolution pictures. The regular pictures here are 418 x 600 pixels and they are looking pretty good and clear at that. While the pictures aren't a main focus here on Chica Boom, they do come across nicely and are nothing to complain about by any means!
The girls on Chica Boom were pretty damn hot. As I mentioned, they come from all around the world as far as latina chicks go. And luckily, at the beginning of each video, it is noted specifically where each girl is hailing from. Sort of like a sports introduction, but the introduction here is just written and theres nobody cheering for it. These are some hot latina girls here, and I would definately recommend this if you are a fan. As far as the action goes, it is pretty much regular porn action. There are two things I'd like to note. On some of the videos I saw, they got into the action hot and hard with a lot of cool and interesting positions. Just a few of the videos, but worth noting. And also, there is quite a bit of footplay on this site. I think that is a theme that runs throughout the sites, but needs to be mentioned as it is pretty apparant here as well.
At the time of review, there were a total of 42 video sets and 11 picture sets. They are independent of each other, ie, theres no videos to go with the picture sets and no pictures to go with the video sets. That being said, I would join the site as a video fan, but maybe not as a picture fan. The site is updated weekly, with timestamps included on the page. This was a very devout and faithful update schedule! As a network fan, I would definately enjoy what they were giving us as well.
The network here includes the sites Chica Boom, Barefoot Confidential, 5 Guy Cream Pie, 10 Man Cum Slam, Black Jelly, Piss Palace, and Kick Ass Grab Bag. All of the sites have a comparable amount of quantity and quality. They are all pretty good sites, and are very comparable to this site. I liked this network, it had nothing too outstanding but it was constantly updated and had a lot of slightly different themes, which was very cool!
Conclusion
Chica Boom is a good site with a large amount of content and a great update schedule all backed with a great network. Definately would recommend looking into this network, as it has lots of content and a great update schedule. Just an all around good site and good set of sites, it gets my thumbs up!
