| Review of Pop Porno:
I've talked about the popcorn bucket trick before. If you aren't familiar, the idea goes like this: go to the movies, cut a hole in the bottom of the popcorn bucket, stick your penis in, and offer your date some popcorn. What I never told you is that at work one time, we thought our manager was a little weird. He had a popcorn bucket sitting on his office shelf. Now why would someone keep that? We eventually came up with the idea that it was his popcorn bucket trick popcorn. I mean it is hard to make a hole every time right? So we had that joke for about a year. One day, we knocked over his bucket, and inside the bucket was another popcorn bucket with a hole in the bottom. Foul! Well, it turns out he caught wind of what we were saying, so he put the other bucket in there and tried to get us to see it a few times, but then forgot about it. Or so he says, hehe. Still a funny story, and boy do I miss that guy! But anyway, the reason I'm talking popcorn is because it's in this sites logo, and I can't think of anything else. So I present to you, Popporno.
Popporno is a site without much of a theme. I really don't know if they even tried to have one. What they basically do is show sets of extremely attractive women in high quality. I guess the only real theme here is that it is all done in house. Now, some people might think themes are overrated and overused. But I am a firm believer in them. I think it gives the site a focus, and it also gives us users a chance to find stuff that we really like. Without that target, I think a site suffers a little. Now I'm not knocking Popporno out before we even begin. All I'm saying is that it makes it a lot harder for us viewers to really gauge our dislike and like for a site when I as a reviewer say, "it's uh, girls playing with themselves and getting fucked." But anyway, Popporno does do what they do very well, so let's look into the site now.
When you first sign on, you are given a relatively simple members page. Along the left hand side are the latest updates to the site in date order. Each set is given a nice thumbnail that shows the girl off well, as well as a well thought through description. These descriptions are actually well written and not cliched like so many other sites out there. On the right hand side is a poll which asks members what they prefer, pictures or videos. And thats about it for the site. The girls are split into a couple of pages, but thats about it. A very simple site design, but one that is very good and gets the girls and the content across quick and fast. I really can't complain, other than to say it doesn't give me much to talk about!
We rarely discuss pictures in detail so we'll talk about them first. Popporno is one of those sites that recognized the quality of a picture. So they take their pictures with stunning attention to the pose, to the detail, and to making the picture great. The pictures are listed in galleries where the thumbnails are quite big, but not overbearingly so. But they are great looking thumbs. The full size pictures are 1024 x 683 pixels. And they look great. They capture all the good angles, and things really look good here. I wouldn't say that this is a picture-focused site by any means, but they definately have the quality of one!
The videos are split into two sections- solo and hardcore. Each girl has both sections of content. And for each, you can either download full WMV or AVI movies, both in large or small qualities. There are also segments in both qualities and in the AVI format. Overall, you get nice options here. Can't really complain, they hit all the bases here and made it accessible to just about anybodies needs. I also like how they split the solo and the hardcore entities. I really think it's cool to rather see a full solo video, and then a full hardcore video. It gives us a bigger chance to focus on each seperate entity. When it's together, it can be a little more rushed and it just isn't as good for us viewers.
So now you have to be asking yourself, do the videos stand up to the awesome quality of the pictures? And the answer is YES YES YES! The WMVs come in at a bitrate of 1628k, so this is definately awesome! They do get a little grainy at full screen if you watch too closely, so sit back from the screen a little bit! I think the AVIs are a slight bit clearer, and they are both around the same file size, so you might want to go that route. Either way, just a great quality here. The camerawork is also done very well too. This might be a homegrown, inhouse site, but they sure know how to film like it was professional!
The girls on Popporno are very nice as well. These girls are flirting with the line between amateur and pornstar looks. They are somewhat amateur looking, but also you wouldn't be surprised to see most of them in a porn or two. I guess natural is the word I'm looking for more than anything. They really don't look made up or fake. The action here is pretty simple, the solo stuff is solo, and the hardcore stuff is hardcore. They aren't afraid to do anal here, and while there might be a set or two with two guys on one girl, it's mostly limited to one on one sex. And it appears the bearded guy is in almost all of the sets. Well, here is where the lack of theme kind of hurts them. Right now I'm just describing almost any porno you could see, and it's hard to put a stamp on it. But it is good stuff.
At the time of review, there was a total of 12 girls on the site. The site is relatively new, just a few months old. Well, with weekly updates, I guess you could say it's twelve weeks old! And it does show a lot of promise. I know 12 isn't an ideal set number, especially with no bonuses, but the site will continue to grow. They are dedicated to updating every week and they are dedicated to the member.
Conclusion
Popporno is a new site that is showing a lot of promise. They have almost everything nailed down. Great content, great pictures, awesome quality. The downside is that they are an upstart and they don't offer much in the way of bonuses. They do have a trial you can check out though. I recommend the site highly, and look at the date of this review as well, because chances are by the time you read this they have added many more sets!
