| Review of Mature Melons:
Everyone raise their hand. If you like small boobies, lower your hand. If you like only young women, lower your hand. Is your hand still up? If so, do I have a site for you. It is called Mature Melons. And I'm not talking about the kind of things you see at the grocery store. Although, it would be cool if there was a website based on mature watermelons. We could have a video guide of how to choose the perfect watermelon, at its perfect ripeness. Not too young and definately not too old. What the hell am I talking about? That would be a terrible website!
Mature Melons is a site about mature women with big gazoongas. You know, boobies, tits, melons, funbags, whatever you might call them. Its a combination of video and pictures, giving it a traditional look with a new age sensibility. Wow, that was a good tagline! Anyway, the focus is a good one. Theres about a million mature and milf sites out there nowadays. In a sea of sites, this one floats to the top because it has a unique, targeted them. So kudos for the good theme that takes the mature genre one step further.
When you first sign onto Mature Melons, you are given a members page which is more of a summary than anything else. There is a little blurb about the focus of the site. The latest video and picture updates are shown. There is also a coming soon girl. There is a well organize sidebar which allows you to move to each section of the site very easily, the main sections being the videos, hardcore pics, and softcore pics. There is also a topbar that does the exact same thing. The site is done in a very classy script, and they use words like "classy" and "beauties" instead of "trashy" and "bitches." The site design gets across that classiness as well. Overall, it's a very clean, simple site design that works very well for what its trying to do.
I would say there is an even focus on the pictures and the videos here. So we'll talk about pictures first. The pictures section is split into two, one for hardcore pictures and one for softcore pictures. For this site, softcore doesn't neccesarily mean the pictures being all that soft. Instead, the softcore stuff is more like the single model stuff. But there is still a considerable amount of spreading and insertion here. The hardcore section seems to be where the male/female action takes place. Both galleries have some good pictures. The pictures are 707 x 1024 pixels and look fairly good here. You can download each pages photos as a zip file if you are allergic to pointing and clicking. The picture quality is quite good. There a bit of a fuziness to the pictures, nothing major, but they don't look as clear and crisp as they could be. Otherwise, these are great pictures. The poses are great, and the sets don't get boring and really vary from picture to picture. So overall, a good pictures section.
The video section is considered all hardcore. You have choices when it comes to the videos. You can download segments of MPGs, segments of AVI (divx), or a full AVI (divx). I'm not sure what you will pick, but you know I love those full movies! Divx is a tricky creature, and they give you some awesome tools to get it up and running for you on your computer. Hey, it worked for me! Anyway, I didn't notice much difference in quality between the two, so I'd go for Divx unless you can't get it to run on your computer. The quality here is ok. It's nothing too special, but at the same time, it's not completely terrible either. Sort of a middle of the road quality. The videos full screen pretty nicely, but there is some noricable loss of quality as well. As I said, middle of the road.
The girls here are old and have big tits. Thats what the site is all about, so I can't complain. And although I've always liked mature women, sometimes the busty matures have a skank porn look to them that kind of ruin my fantasy. There is an awesome update schedule here which gives you softcore photo sets every Monday and Friday, new videos every Wednesday and hardcore photos every other Sunday. Large amount of content, especially for you picture fans out there, so it's definately worth the money when you consider the combo of amount of content and frequency of updates.
Conclusion
Well, this is the first porn site I've looked at in about two weeks, and it just didn't do a whole lot for me. Theres nothing fundamentally wrong with it, it just looks a little dated to me. On the upside, the softcore pictures are done very well. I don't think it's a bad buy for mature fans, just check the previews first, and maybe take the plunge, especially if you are a pictures fan.
