| Review of Gallery Carré:
People can find art in lots of things. There is art to be found in poetry, art to be found in music, art to be found in, well, art! But some other things can be very artsy as well. Like everyday life. Dew slowly dripping off of a flowers bud. That is art! Ok, now before I get any flowery- let me explain that todays site is a flowery site. It is a site with a focus on art, and not just nude art- art as a whole.
Gallery Carre is a website with a focus on the art of Didier Carre, an artistic photographer. He takes beautiful women and poses them in very artsy, cool pictures. The end result is some very cool looking pictures sometimes. This kind of theme is not for everybody. It has a very focused and targeted group it appeals to. The pictures are all black and white, and very artistic looking. So the theme here is beautiful poses, and a focus more on the overall picture rather than the model or the action going on inside.
When you first sign into Gallery Carre, you get a members page with todays updates, a little intro, and some extreneous stuff. It's not really a powerfully packed members page. Instead its basically a portal page to the sites main content, which is found on the Galleries page. When you sign in there, you are given a calender like setup showing each update by the day it happened. Without getting too far ahead of ourselves, all I can say is that the setup here is very easy and managable to work through. The thumbnails are small, but you really don't need them too much here. Otherwise, you get a really good site design here.
The pictures are by far the focus here. And I will combine many sections into one here, because this is a very unique site and it deserves a different kind of review. First of all, these are not your regular porn pictures. These are artistic nudes, only done in black and white. While some of you may say click right away, others might have their interest piqued. To take it even further, the pictures are very artistic. Every picture looks like it belongs in a frame and on my wall. There is very little focus on sexuality here. There is very little focus on the women in the sets and what they are doing. The big focus is on the actual picture, and having it look good. Most of the time you won't even be looking at the girl. Yes, its different, yes, its artsy, and yes, not for everyone.
So lets talk some technical aspects of these pictures. For each thumbnail, there are three quality options available. Theres small, medium, and large. Small is 450 x 600 pixels, Medium is 900 x 1200 pixels, and Large is 1500 x 2000 pixels. All of these are extremely clear, extremely quality art pictures. Very cool and absolutely no complaints coming from the picture quality or navigation. You can also download both high and low resolution pictures in zip format to have every picture of a set on your hard drive. Very good options here.
Gallery Carre updates its site every day. That is another big plus. The update sets aren't usually the meatiest, maybe a handful of pictures at the most. The pictures are very artistic and cool for those of you who like this kind of stuff. But not for everybody. But with its awesome, awesome update schedule.. you do have something new to look forward to each week. That is very cool, very nice to see.
Conclusion
Well, this is a very odd site. It won't appeal to everybody, with a very targeted audience. I'm not even sure if I could consider most of this pornography, even though there can be some pretty explicit stuff on here. It just looks like art. For me, it's sometimes nice to maybe look at and have as backgrounds on my computer. Its not really get-off material for me. But hey, if you like this kind of photography- there is really no flaws at Gallery Carre. You just have to be part of that very targeted audience. Know that going in, and you'll be fine.
