| Review of Pornstud Search:
Sometimes, when watching a porn video, a guy will look at it and say.. "I can do that!" Look at some of these porn stars out there, Ron Jeremy looks like your drunken uncle, you got guys like Dave Cummings who look like they could drop at any second, yet you are a young (maybe) virile stud who is sitting around watching all of it. Life's not fair is it? Armchair porn stars rejoice! In a unique opportunity, normal guys can audition for porn in a website called Porn Stud Search! And guess what, it might not be as easy as it seems.
Porn Stud Search is a reality site, with the theme being male porn star auditions. As with many audition, some are a success and some are a failure. In the situation of failures with Porn Stud Search, the result can be very funny and humiliating. And the successes can lead to a very hot video shoot. I would like to say that I am a very big fan of this concept. Almost every reality site out there is very female focused. This one reverses the role, with the females "hosting" the videos and then men being the main focus. I think it's a very cool concept, one that might have some of the more homophobic guys a little weary, but it's not like theres any gay sex in these videos, it's just focused on the male porn star instead of the female porn star. The sex is the same as if the focus was on the girls.
As this is a reality site, there is much more focus put on the videos than the pictures. The videos are done in WMV and Quicktime formats, and segmented into two minute segments. Each video lasts an average of 10 segments, or 20 minutes. If you so desire, you can get the videos in 30 second segments as well, following a link from the videos section. However, you can't download the whole thing as one, which I really wish you could. I would call the video quality "high", with very little pixelation and you can full screen these videos without much loss of quality.
The action on the videos is also pretty good. It starts out with these girls going out and looking for "the next Ron Jeremy." Eventually, after chatting with a few different guys, they will find a guy who is willing to give it a whirl, and they take him and begin the fun. The video work is good, although it seems a little amateurish at times, with the cameraperson not getting the best shots they could for certain scenes. I don't know if they did this on purpose to add to the theme, or if it was just shoddy work, but it's not that big of a deal. There were also certain sets where the lighting was real dark, which is another thing I hate in some videos. Unfortunately, this stuff brings down the score a bit, but the videos are still great and I loved the action in them. Also, in most of the videos, we get to see Ron Jeremy holding up a score card on his thoughts of the guys performance, which is kinda cool!
The picture section is almost an afterthought. Since the site is so video-driven, like most reality sites, the pictures are just a formality. Even as a formality, they are pretty clean and crisp and thumbnailed well. The pictures themselves, though, are a little weak as far as whats actually happening. They seem awkward and poorly shot. It doesn't detract too much, since it's primarily a video site, but at the same time if you're a big fan of the pictures you might not like this site as well as some others.
The actors and actresses fit the site very well. The guys look like doofy, wannabe Don Juan jackasses who think they can be porn stars. The girls look like second-rate skank porn stars, and normally I don't like that, but it fits the theme here so I cannot complain at all. The additional element of making a reality site "real" is very true here, as everything clicks and it clicks well.
The site claims to be updated weekly, but at the time of review it seems its been a few weeks since it's been updated. STILL, at the time of review, it had over 30 sets, so it's not like your getting jipped here (especially after we go over the rest of the package!) I would like to mention that unlike some sites, this site stays constant with it's 2 minute segment/wmv,mov/around the same length format throughout the series. Porn Stud Search could stand on its merits with a huge amount of sets, and be a great site without any bonus material. Instead, they go for the gold and overload you with content.
The bonus material is vast. Most importantly, you get access to a "reality pack" which includes Milf Seeker, Bangboat, Gangbangsquad, Herfirstbigcock, My Sex Tour, Backseatbangers, BlackOnWhtsluts, and Teens For Cash, which are all very very good reality site with comparable quality and quantity. If that wasn't enough, there are over 55 leased sites you can go to, to keep you busy while waiting for updates if you ever get finished downloading all the awesome content from the site!
The site design is what I would consider "busy", where there is a lot of material on the front page and just links all over the place. I think they did this to make you realize the vast amount of porn you are getting here, and if they did, they did a great job at getting the point across. While the site design does look a little messy, I had absolutely no problem with navigation or finding anything, so I guess the webmasters should get kudos for making a big mess of stuff on the front page workable and easy to navigate.
Conclusion
A great concept, lots of good sets and a vast amount of bonus material make a membership an absolute no-brainer. There are a few flaws, but when you look at the bulk of everything you get here, you have yourself an awesome deal.
