Review of Fetish Nation:

If Fethishnation.com were my site, I would change the name to Beautiful-Bound-Babes.com, which, I think, is a better description of what you will find here. These have got to be the best photos you will find anywhere of damsels in distress. Tied-up, tied-down, wrapped-up, hung-up, pinched and prodded, all the while looking like they came off the pages of a Victoria's Secret catalogue.

I suppose they use the word "fetish", because some of the pictures show woman in latex, in rubber, and fisted. There is a photo shoot of a model peeing, some with candles and others with various toys and "instruments. But overall, the theme here is bondage and light (VERY light) S and M.

The Photographer, Ian Rath, has accomplished the rare feat of raising bondage photography to the realm of art. Of course, when you consider that he is working with beautiful models with great bodies, it must make his job easier (and more fun). While the resolution of the pictures is lower than desirable (640x480) they are very sharp, and look as if they might have been cropped from larger, higher resolution scans. These are not the grainy, blurry, photos you see on other BDSM sites. This quality is what you expect, say, from Suze Randall, but I think Rath is much more artistic than Randall. He has been a photographer for 20 years, though the site doesn't tell us what he does when he's not tying up women. One wonders why he doesn't expand his site to include other adult material. With his talent, he could easily compete with the best adult sites on the net if he only had the quantity to match the others.

According to their count there are 5000+ pictures in the galleries. More are added weekly (at least). Older series are NOT archived for some strange reason. Surely it can't be to save space on the server; not at the cost of hard drives today, and not with only 5000 pictures online. There is a suggestion that they do this to entice you to keep your membership active. Here's what they say, "Missed a Series? Older Series will Eventually Show up Again...But not for Long!" I hope that they aren't doing this as a teaser, because it just seems cheap and not enticing. The photographs are supposed to be exclusive to this site though I think some of the material has appeared on the models' sites as well.

Unfortunately, the same quality doesn't follow through to the videos. Except for one 6-minute film, they are short (2-3 minutes on average), small (240x180), and in QuickTime format. Of the 50 clips, about half show the chained-up or tied-down model struggling against her bonds with the required moans and groans. If you enjoy women in bondage you will probably enjoy this. I wanted more "action" then the short clips allow.

They advertise "Live sessions with chat and Streaming Broadcasts with some of Your Favourite Doms and Bondage Models." Only one live session was scheduled in the month we wrote this review and we were not able to catch it. Hopefully we will have another opportunity. They don't post the videos of the life sessions online.

There is a small section of 'Erotic Art', which refers to pictures which had various digital effects applied. I think Rath's photos in the other galleries are equally 'Erotic Art'. But what do I know?

For the connoisseurs there is a section of vintage (100 - black and white) bondage photos, most with Betty Page.

The Library contains several well-written, BDSM stories, most are several pages long, a couple are book-length.

The site is well designed, and you can find the pictures either by category or by the model. Since many of the photo shoots are large you can also 'jump' to a specific point in the series rather then being forced to page though the whole series to get to the 'good stuff.

Conclusions:
This is probably one of the best site with BDSM photography you will find anywhere and if your enjoy BDSM you will definitely enjoy it. There isn't enough content to warrant long term membership, but maybe that is something they will fix in time, or if enough of their members ask for it.
