Review of Color Climax:
Update: Color Climax were nice enough to respond to our request for info. They mailed us back with responses to most of the review, so the brown text are comments and fact supllied by CC.
This is a giant in the field of hardcore pornography, they have been around forever always sticking to their own style of hardcore. This site would turn out to be a very nice site and in the end snagging themselves are great review from yours truly. (slap me if I start to sound like a laundry detergent salesman).
COLOR CLIMAX was born in the days when pornography was still ‘hush-hush' but took off after 1968 when Denmark legalized it. After 36 years in pornography, CC became the largest producer of erotic material in Northern Europe. To date, we have published over 3,000 different books and magazines with a grand total of over 140 million editions; 8 1/2 million films; and close to a million video cassettes.
Getting into the groove right away with a nice slick looking design and easy navigation always starts off my reviews on the right foot, because first impressions do last. I must admit I couldn't wait to dive into the picture archives here, and so I did.
The Website posts new content every weekday, usually 2 photosets and a movie per day. On average, you will find 300 new photos and at least 2 new movies each week. See the "What's New" link which includes every new posting for the month.
The archives so far cover the 90's, 80's and 70's, where the 90's archive is about twice as big as the others. The archive photo sessions are not complete here, simply 10-11 of the most hardcore pictures are selected and stored here for your nostalgic needs. I must admit I had a rather fun time looking through hardcore pictures of 70's "bush women" ;). Though I was a bit disappointed that I could see the complete shoots in the archives there was plenty of content there alone to keep me busy for a while.
CC rotates content to keep the site fresh… that is, new full photosets are posted to the Studios and then after a period of time, removed. A subset of each set is eventually reposted in the CC Archives. To reward long-term members, after maintaining an active membership with us for 4 months, they are granted "VIP" access to the CC Archives which gives them access to the full photosets in the Archives at no additional fee.
In addition, the advanced CC Search facility allows any Member to find the ‘missing' images from any Archive set by simply searching for the set name or doing a query using any of the search descriptors.
I was wondering for quite some time where all the year 2000+ pictures would be, now maybe it's a standard CC magazine or section in their magazine, but to find complete hardcore pictures scenes you go to the Xposed section. Here you get 100 pictures of each shoot and that's a lot indeed.
There are already 2000 photosets in the Studios… it is just a matter of getting our design team to create another section in Archives for the 2000 sets when they are ready to be cycled in;) This should happen soon.
But where are all the Climax stories they are so well known for? Well I found a 3 section "Studios", (don't know why I didn't go there sooner). This section is devided into 8 sub sections like "anal sex" lesbian love" "color climax gold" "sex bizarre" and others. Here all the pictures are put into two "pages" which are a mix of a story and the belonging pictures, very nice indeed. The signature section is more of the same, pictures and stories, but these are with certain male porn stars or girls it would appear.
The CC Signature Series feature some of the most popular models and include a brief biography and movies where applicable. Rocco is one of the largest male models … most remember him as "Buttman" from his infamous movies; Anna is the most renowned female teen model anywhere.
There are far too many pictures for me to give an estimate of how many there are, I'm hoping Color Climax will help me out on this one.
There are currently well over 12,000 images available on the website including all of the Xposed series.
The quality is about the same as you have come to expect from the magazines, and the transsission from the old negatives to the web is very successfull, probably the best "old" pictures I have seen put up on the web.
We get so many requests for the CC "Golden Oldies" from the 70's, but these are the most challenging negatives to scan as they were handled differently in the original print process for our magazines. We get so many requests for these sets that we have accelerated their scans.
You get lots of videoclips as well, some of them are streamed to you in .wmf (window media file format) these are 5-10 minutes long it says, but it didn't work out too well for me (this may not be CC's fault). The mpegs I looked at though, 3 clips from each scenes and some of these are "blasts from the past" too. Nice quality with sound (the clips are cut into 3 mb sizes and each is about 30-40 seconds long.
We are in the process of redesigning the CC Theater using the newest technologies to improve upon our current movie and streaming quality.

I'm sorry to sound so excited about a site, I know it almost became standard for me to trash sites here, but I gotta give credit where credit is due, this site is the perfect example that hardcore sites can be done extremely well, in high quality with good navigation and with tons of content.

Conclusion:
If you are a hardcore fan, you can't escape this site it will get you in the end and I'm afraid you will not want to leave it again, so far this is the best hardcore site I have seen. All thumbs up to Color Climax and please keep up the great work!
