| It's really hard to call something perfect, in my opinion. I don't think I ever do much of anything that is perfect. I don't think any sites have ever received a perfect rating. That is because there is always room for improvement and growth somewhere. Even the best site in the world can improve something. With that said, calling your site Perfect and then having reviews that say as much on your front page is a cocky way to start things off. With Perfect Video, we'll see if that is justified or if it's just some bull to try to sell the site.
Perfect Video is a site that falls into the DVD archive category. They offer videos that are commercially available in stores, encoded to a computer format for our enjoyment. This really is a cool idea, I never said anything against that. It's just that so many similar sites are popping up now, these sites need to either have some very special features, or completely unique videos to stand out from the crowd.
Signing into Perfect Video, you get a list of genres on the left side. If you select a genre, a list of DVD covers will appear. You can then go into there and download the scenes you want. Now, I often have a problem with the categorization of sites like this, and Perfect Video is not perfect in this respect. For example, I click the Mature title, and the first video that shows is Young Models in Heat? That shows how the system is flawed. I've always said, there is a simple way to keep things organized here- and that is just list things in their predominant category. For example, if you have Asian Girls Gone Wild, don't put it in the blowjob category! And so on. One category per video for easier browsing! I really don't like how this goes, and it is consistent throughout most sites like this, I am not just picking on Perfect Video.
The most impressive thing about the site is the way they have the videos page set up. Now, this is also not the first time I've seen this, but it is a nice way to set up scenes. You can make custom clips to your liking from the scenes. For example, this video I'm looking at now has 18 segments. You can slide and select to start at clip 1 and work to clip 18, in essence downloading the entire video. If you are on a slower connection and want smaller clips, you can use it to make smaller clips. If you are like me and don't care to watch some of the talking and stuff before scenes, you can start at the action. This is a cool system. As far as options, you can view your custom clip in Flash or in WMV, and download it in WMV.
The quality of the downloadable videos is quite a disappointment. This is where the site's biggest flaw lies. I was first suspicious when I saw the size of the videos. I was thinking it was a really short scene, or a lower quality video. It isn't horrible video- but the only quality on Perfect Video is about the norm for medium on other similar sites. When you bring up full screen there is some pixelation and just a loss of quality. There is also a certain darkness to a lot of the videos I downloaded. Overall, I just didn't care for the quality much at all.
The navigation system also slips down a notch. I don't get it- you can design this sleek videos page, but then when it comes to trying to get to a category, it takes three clicks on the same link to get what you want. Doesn't make sense to me, but maybe they are still working out the kinks. Between this and the oddball categorization, it wasn't exactly easy for me to get what I wanted. I don't ask for much- just a few horny old ladies- is that too much to ask?
With DVD Archive sites, you really get the girls and the quality attached with the porn videos. You pretty much get what you'd expect to get when you hit a porn store. It is cool stuff, but the themes run pretty basic here. The variety isn't too varied from other sites like this one. I know a lot of the titles had familiar names, so I'm thinking it's probably a good amount of the same material.
At the time of review, there were 119 videos with 678 scenes. The site is updated, but it is on an irregular basis. For example, the last update was about three months ago, at that point they added two videos within two days, but there are just huge gaps in time between some of the updates. Overall, a weak representation in this category as well.
Conclusion
All in all, this site doesn't live up to its name at all. Frankly, there are much better sites in a similar style with very similar content. So why even bother with Perfect Video? Take a pass on it based on updates and quality, you can do much better!
