| Review of Tanline Sex:
In porno, tanlines can be good and bad. I like seeing girls with tanlines in my porno. It makes them seem a little more real. I also like the color variance between the milky white naughty parts and the smooth tanned body. One thing I do not like is seeing some dude with a pasty white ass banging some chick. So tanlines on girls are ok, on guys, maybe not so good.
Tanline Sex is a site which focuses on girls who have tanlines. I know, have we really run out of ideas? I actually dig this theme though. It definately is not a big, world changing porno theme like some try to be. It is something simple, and it's not something that I think anybody really has a fetish for. More like a "hey, thats kinda cool" thing. But it works for me because it is a little different. Its also something that won't offend most people. Just something that people will say "eh," to and continue their viewing.
When you first sign into Tanline Sex, you get a simple page and you just click the text to get to what we would normally consider a front page. When you get to the true front page, you get the latest updates page. This basically shows the latest sets, each with a small thumbnail. Your topbar options are all galleries (which is the same as this front page), all videos (the same thing with different thumbnails), bonus sites, upcoming updates (dead page), and customer service. This layout left me less than satisfied. First of all, the previews are terrible. I still haven't found the difference between the galleries and the videos pages, save the thumbnails. They all direct to the same basic stuff.
The pictures and the movies get about the same treatment. The pictures show up in thumbnails when you click a set. There are twelve thumbnails on each page of thumbnails. For each one, you have the option of seeing the picture in high or low. These galleries are not too big. There is less than 100 pictures in most cases. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem. However, I thought the pictures here were a little too repetitive for my tastes. You could look at five different pics, and they'd all be fundamentally the same. That was my biggest problem. Quality wise, these pictures are pretty good. The high level pictures are 1360 x 2048 pixels and the really quick motions are kind of blurry. This is also not as clear as I'd like to see. So these are nowhere near excellent status, but could have been a lot worse.
The videos come in clips or full movies. The clips are usually a few segments long, not too bad. The full movie is just that. You get to these by a sidebar on the sets page. There will be one thumbnail in the full movies section, and one per segment in the clips section. Either way, your options are low, medium, or high in either WMV or QT format. Pretty nice amount of options, I just wish they had the preview thumbnails to go along with this. Of course, you will get a better idea of the girls from the picture previews that appear on the main set page- but I still would like more. Video quality here is just ok, even at high. The videos at high will be 916k and still have quite a few pixels in them. Not the greatest I've ever seen by far. On top of that, I think the watermark on some of the videos where there will be one watermark, and then another one on top of it- that was a bit of overkill!
The girls here are generally pretty good looking, with a few beasts thrown in. I swear to god, this one girl has hair around her belly button. That is completely not needed. But for the most part, the girls were reasonably attractive. There is definately a big focus on latin women on this site. The action was your typical porn stuff, the girls have tanlines but they don't focus much on them otherwise.
At the time of review, there were 16 sets of content. The sets are timestamped, but unfortunately for us, the updates do not appear to be regular. The site was born in March and here it is October and we have 16 updates- do the math. So the content level is pretty low, but there are some bonus sites here.
Bonus sites included are Euro Fuck Friends, Tastes This Brazilian Ass, Fresh Amateur Cuties, Its Your Porn, Public Nudity Uncovered, Vagina From China (awesome name!) and True Hentai. The bonuses are about at the level as this site, some with a little more content.
Conclusion
A great theme and a below average site. The sets are ok, but everything is just terribly boring, throw in a lower quality and a lack of cohesion with the theme, and its one I would just look right over at the time being.
