| Review of Border Bomshells:
I'm going to drop the bomb on you! No, not the regular bomb. I mean some beautiful Border Bombshells. You know, some barely legal hotties. But no, not barely legal in the teenage sense. I mean barely legal as in they don't have their green cards. There is something strangely exotic about this. For some reason, I'd take a cute foreigner any day over a cute national. Some of you reading from abroad might not understand this. But in the American culture, there is a high price put on foreign girls. But the ranking usually goes that European girls are a sexy, exotic find. And latina girls are like the girls you get to blow you if you have a bag of weed. I know, these are terrible generalizations. However, tonight you will find me searching for a bag of weed, because these Border Bombshells are smokin' hot!
Border Bombshells is a site with a focus on Latina girls, primarily from Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. I know this because the site lists exactly where the girls are coming from right on the set. This is basically a latina site with a spruced up name. You might notice that latina sites are becoming a dime a dozen. Well, latina fans won't complain about this at all! But I do have to take issue with the theme. With so many things you can do around a simple latina theme, I think there should be an added twist here. I'm not sure what, it's not my job. But there are so many straight latina sites that I think a twist would be kind of cool.
When you first sign into Border Bombshells, you get a pretty nicely laid out members page. For each set, you get four thumbnails of varying sizes. The way they set up the thumbnails was actually very nice. I liked how it had a pretty cool, artsy look to it but still portrayed the content nicely. Job well done! I like it when a site has a nice, useful front page. Most sites do, but lately it seems like I've been seeing a lot of weak front pages so this intro on Border Bombshells was actually quite nice. This design pretty much held throughout the page and was pretty good all around. The site looked nice but it also had a simple, easy to use interface.
When you looked into the videos page, you got the same preview system as you got on the front page for each set. The four thumbnails of varying sizes. Again, this was still pretty effective all in all. The four thumbnails worked better as a preview on the front page than as an actual video preview, but all in all it wasn't that bad. Your video options were to download either full length movie or clip in either the WMV or MPG format. I wonder why sites offer both of these when they can be so similar.
The quality of video at Border Bombshells was my biggest issue with the site. I downloaded the WMVs, and when I watched them they were extremely pixelated. Not bad quality pixelated, but bad transfer pixelated. If that makes any sense to you. The quality number was a nice 1491k, but the videos just didn't follow up with a great quality. It looks like they were stretched or something. Either way, for long downloads, you don't get much of a reward here.
The pictures here are taken by a camera, and they are pretty darned good photos if you ask me. I like how more and more sites are moving away from vidcaps nowadays. Its like somebody is actually, you know, listening to me or something! 576 x 864 pixels here and while they are not perfect photos, they are perfectly acceptable for a video site such as this.
The girls on Border Bombshells were pretty decent, but not A+ material in my opinion. Of course, with so few sets on board right now, it is hard to make such a generalization. But I do call them as I see them. I am not a huge latina fan either, so the short story is to check out the previews and decide for yourself. The action is pretty much your same, cut and dried sex action. Done well but nothing special about it.
At the time of review there were 8 sets of content. This is not a huge number, but the site is just starting out on a pretty well respected network so we can expect more of the same. This network includes BJ POV, Tonys Casting Couch, Nikky Blonde, Stroke Jobs, Bangin Blacks, Butt Bangin, Skin Vids, Angels of Porn, Red Asses, Shemale Pickup, and Feet Stroke.
Conclusion
The video quality issues and the girl quality really killed the site for me. The network doesn't seem to have as big of a problem with the videos, so maybe this is just an anomoly or maybe I should have tried MPGs. Either way, I would call it a stretch to recommend this.
