| Review of Vixeo:
The video supersites are starting to become a dime a dozen. You know, the kind where you can go and download movies that were previously available on DVD to your computer. They are appealing, because they have lots of movies at the same price that we sign up for sites that have like 30-40 sets. While they might not have the charm as websites, they are good to go to for lots of content in easy doses. I like these sites a lot actually. And when I came across an ad for Vixeo, I was automatically interested because a lot of the content looked pretty fresh as compared to the other sites which usually have the same basic stuff in different formats. So welcome to Vixeo, lets take a look at it.
Vixeo is a video site as described above. Now, with all of these video sites, you are basically getting the same but different. It seems they all have put their own stamp on the idea of the sites, and mostly each one has specific weaknesses. So in our reviews, we usually look at the weaknesses, and then compare it to the others like it. Vixeo is a little different because it doesn't have much of the same content that you see rotating around those other sites. That is what made it interesting to me, so I'd say the theme level is pretty high for me. Now, read on, because there is a major asterik to what I am saying, but for the most part I'm going to say the theme here thrives on the sites European type porn.
Vixeo is basically indexed by category. You could take it further and go by studio or search an actress, of course, but the main indice here is by genre of porn. You have many options, and they include Amateur, Anal, Asian, ATM, Big Tits, Blowjob, Bondage, Cumshots/Facials, DP, Euro Sex, Obese, Fetish, Gangbang, Gay Sex, German, Groupsex, Internal Cumshots, Latino Sex, Lesbian, Natural Tits, Old Mature, Oral, Pregnant, She-Males, Straight Sex, Teen Sex, and Interracial. You can already see where I have listed a lot of categories that those other video sites wouldn't touch. Vixeo is a much more amateur type of video place. And I don't mean like amateur as in homemade, I mean amateur as in the types of girls in the videos. The videos are still very professional. More on that later. Now, as most sites do, Vixeo does the annoying, the utterly ridiculous double categorization. That basically means they will put the same movie under different categories on the site. I hate that, and I think it makes for a harder browse. Because I'm not sure about all of you, but when I download these movies, I download a ton and I save them for later. I don't always remember what I downloaded. So this gives you lots of chances for double downloads if you go through the categories. You will also find yourself questioning it more. I just don't like it when they do that. But for the most part, I will say that the categories are all relatively correct as opposed to other sites where you just wonder why certain movies were put in certain places.
As you could imagine, the videos are the focal point here at Vixeo. When you get into a videos page, you are given three tiny thumbnails. This is issue number one. The thumbnailling here is not very good. Issue number two is segmenting. Each video has two-four segments. Now that is not normally a big deal when the segment numbers are that low. But the truth is, most sites like this do not have segmentation or have it as an option to full length video. So when Vixeo throws in segments, even though they aren't bad in number, it is still a minus, comparatively speaking. There are no quality options here, you just get one choice. Along with that you can click a few text links for a few screen shots of each scene. Not very satisfying really. Anyways, this is true for all of the videos. It's not the greatest setup page, and that really detracts from the site. I know there are some videos I would have downloaded if the previews been better, and some I definately wouldn't have touched as well.
The quality here is a consistent 1500k for all of these WMVs. This is a very good quality, and it shows at full screen. There are very few flaws here, with a clear, clean screen being shown almost every time. Great quality here. But that is somewhat held back by some of these videos. The quality of the actual DVDs on some of these aren't as good. This is especially true in some of the European type DVDs, they seem like they are a little aged and the colors are just not right. So while Vixeo has excellent quality, the actual DVDs hold the page back in some instances.
Now, with sites like this, it is hard to talk about girls and action and all that stuff. I normally wouldn't, but here I'd like to touch on a few things. The main thing is that Vixeo doesn't have as much "fake Porn" as I like to call it, as these other sites doing the same thing. There is a lot more stuff like mature, bigger girls, and the european stuff as well. Here, you get more realistic looks at the nature of women. You don't get a whole lot of teased hair and fake boobs. Its a more raw look at things, and you can even tell that from the categories. I'm making a generalization, but it is a bigger one.
Content-wise, Vixeo claims to have 1140 DVDs and 7874 scenes. That sounds about right. Lots of content here, and now I have to say this. Some of the videos I downloaded came up with the Adult Bouncer tags on here. Now I don't know if Vixeo used to be an Adult Bouncer site, or if they just took movies from there, but it is something to be aware of if you used to be an AB member. Now, AB switched to DRM, so Vixeo might be a good chance to get those videos downloadable. But it did need to be mentioned, of course.
Conclusion
Vixeo is a nice change in the world of video supersites. Its nice to see a site use different content. On the other hand, some of it is aged, and it is still very unexclusive. The site design could be better, and that hinders the site a bit too. But for a nice video collection of some more obscure stuff, Vixeo is at least worth a look.
