| Review of Download Pass:
Going to the porn store to rent some movies can be fun, intimidating, and expensive all at the same time. We love internet porn, there is no doubt about that. But sometimes we just need a little break from it. Just a time to go out and watch regular, professional porn. There is also times that we need to just get porn in bulk quantities. Stack up and get out, thats the way we roll. And signing up for your typical porn site won't do you very good in that regard most times. And sometimes we just need a little variety. Enter Download Pass, the perfect site to cater to those situations.
Download Pass is a video mega site. It is one of the sites where you can download regular, professional made porn in great quantities at once. These porns on here are usually just a couple of years old, they made their rounds in the stores and the studios are willing to sell them off to sites like this. I will start by saying a lot of these movies can be seen on the similar movie sites. Thats kind of strike one for Download Pass, but we'll talk about the way that the site takes a swing for the fences despite this hiccup.
When you first sign into Download Pass, you are given a members area which is very well organized. The latest added videos are shown, the side shows the top rated scenes and dvds throughout the entire site. Even better, as you switch from category to category, this changes to show the most popular in the category. Pretty cool. There are lots of categories here, it's actually quite exhaustive and I will give you the list later. But you can also sort everything by actor, the most popular, and by studio. Basic stuff for this kind of site, but it ends up working out quite nicely. The site is designed very professionally, but there were some missing videos here and there. That needs to be addressed, especially since they looked pretty good. But other than that, a really nice simple easy to use site here.
Let's first begin by saying that the videos here are completely downloadable and savable forever, no DRM or Stream Only like some of these sites like this have been lately.
As we begin to talk about the videos on Download Pass, I will talk about why I thought this site stood out among other similar sites. And the first reason would be options. You have all kinds of them here. You can download small, medium, or large size files as well as stream them. A lot of sites don't have these kind of options, and I think it worked really well here. Oh yeah, you can also get segments or the full video! Most sites usually just offer one or the other, and only in one quality level. While you might not use all of these options, I think it's really cool that they are there for you. And I appreciate full video downloads!
As far as setup goes, each DVD has its own page. Each scene is given three thumbnails, which isn't great, but it works in the overall context of the site. You can then do your downloading or streaming. The quality here is pretty good. At high quality, you get a 800k WMV file. Now I know, 800k doesn't really stand to what some similar sites are offering. But these videos still look very good, trust me! At full screen, there is very little pixelation on many of these movies. There is a little black box around so you're not at truly full screen, but it's close enough. And I think this site is really good at balancing everything. You can get some great 15+ minute scenes for under 100mb, which is managable when burning and otherwise storing these videos. I really like the balance here.
Another thing I really liked was the fact that there are vidcaps here! I never thought I'd hear myself saying that, but here the vidcaps are a cool bonus because they really don't do it often on sites like this. It can be like an extended preview as well, since theres only three thumbs to start out with. Either way, the vidcaps look decent, but it's just nice to have them there!
Talking about the action now, Download Pass hits a lot of bases. They have the following categories: Amateur, Anal, Anime, Asian, Big Cocks, Big Tits, Bisexual, Blacks, Blondes, Brunettes, Facial/Cumshots/Oral, Fat, Gangbang, Gay, Gay Black, Hairy, Hardcore, Houswife/MILF, Interracial, Latina, Legs and Feet, Lesbian, Masturbation-Female, Mature Women, Orgies/Threesomes, Other/Bizarre, Panties, Porn Stars, Pregnant, Redheads, Sex Guides, Teen/Petite/Coed, Transsexual, and Voyeur. Obviously hit a lot of bases here, and the only problem I really have is again with the overlapping categories. For example, a movie can be amateur, anal, blonde, big tits, and lots of other categories in one. They just need to pick the most prevalent category instead of sticking it in a few.
At the time of review, there was a total of 671 DVDs, which gives us 3138 scenes of content. Nice amount of content, really, and the only downfall is that many of these videos can be seen on other sites, and you might already have a lot of the content here. And there are some leased bonus sites as well, I normally wouldn't mention that as a perk but again a lot of similar sites don't have that, and I actually saw a lot of leased sites here I don't see all that often. There are no timestamps or anything but with all of the videos on here you have to believe the site is consistently updated. But this is more of a run and gun site anyway, you'll join for a month and then a year later again.
Conclusion
I liked Download Pass for what it was. I think the idea and the design was very solid. If they had all new-to-the-web content from videos, this would be killer! As it is, they worked hard on the site and it stands out. There is also a nice trial price, if you are leery and think you might have a lot of the videos already. But a definately good way to get some commercially available porn!
